When is 1X NEO coming to the UK?

1X opened orders in October 2025 for US deliveries in 2026, and has said other markets will follow in 2027. Its order page still lists US deliveries only.

Production started at 1X's factory in Hayward, California in spring 2026. As of mid-September 2026 there was no independent confirmation of NEOs in customers' homes, and early units were going to 1X's own testing first.

One report in June said NEO had started shipping to early-access customers in the UK and parts of Europe. 1X hasn't confirmed that on its own site, so 2027 is the realistic UK date until it does.

How much will NEO cost in the UK?

UK pricing hasn't been announced. In the US, NEO is $20,000 to buy, which includes priority delivery, or $499 a month on subscription. A refundable $200 deposit reserves one.

At $1.32 to £1 (2 October 2026), that's about £15,000 to buy or about £380 a month. UK prices normally include VAT and import costs, so a UK price is likely to be higher than a straight conversion.

What NEO does

1X pitches NEO for everyday household jobs, such as tidying and fetching things, as well as conversation and companionship. It's small and light for a humanoid, which helps it move around a normal home, but 1X quotes a lift capacity of around 70 kg, so it's stronger than it looks.

NEO can't do everything on its own yet. For jobs it hasn't learned, 1X offers Expert Mode: a 1X employee wears a VR headset and controls NEO remotely to finish the task, and NEO learns from it.

NEO's privacy controls

Remote operators seeing inside your home is the obvious concern. According to 1X:

  • Expert Mode sessions need your approval, and a light on NEO shows when an operator is connected.
  • People's faces are blurred in the operator's view.
  • You can set no-go zones that NEO won't enter.
  • You can opt out of your data being used to train its AI.

These are 1X's own claims and haven't been independently checked, because NEO isn't in customers' homes yet. Operators can still see your rooms and belongings during a session. Our home robot privacy guide covers what to decide before your robot arrives.

Getting your home ready for NEO

  • WiFi: NEO needs a solid connection for updates and Expert Mode, in every room it will work in.
  • A charging spot: a clear area near a socket, off the main walkway.
  • No-go zones: decide them before NEO first maps your home.
  • Stairs and floors: clear trailing cables and loose rugs.
  • Children and pets: agree the house rules before day one.

The full list is in our robot-ready checklist.

What Robot Fitter is planning. A £49 home readiness survey to check your WiFi, dock spot, stairs and camera-free zones before your robot arrives. Setup and safety configuration on the day it arrives (£99–£199, depending on the robot and the size of your home). And a Robot Care Plan from £25 a month after that. We're not taking bookings yet. Would you pay £99 to have your home robot set up for you, with privacy and safety settings done?
