Why UK prices will be higher than a straight conversion

US prices are quoted before sales tax. Prices for UK shoppers include VAT, which is 20% on most goods. As a rough guide, about £15,000 before VAT becomes about £18,000 with it.

If you import a robot yourself, you pay import VAT to the delivery company, and possibly customs duty and handling fees on top, before you get it. Your consumer rights against an overseas seller are also weaker. For something this expensive, an official UK launch is the safer route.

Buy, subscribe or lease?

NEO is the only robot with both options priced. Buying is $20,000, which 1X says includes a three-year warranty. The subscription is $499 a month, about £380, which comes to roughly £13,700 over three years before VAT. Check what each option includes, such as repairs, replacement parts and software updates, before comparing them on price alone.

Figure's CEO has talked about leasing Figure 03 to homes for $400 to $600 a month, but there's no offer you can sign up to yet.

Running costs

  • Electricity. Under Ofgem's price cap for October to December 2026, electricity costs 26.32p per kWh. Manufacturers haven't all published battery sizes. As an illustration, a robot with a 2 kWh battery charged fully every day would cost about £190 a year.
  • WiFi. Robots need a strong signal in every room they work in. If yours doesn't reach, a mesh WiFi system is a one-off cost.
  • Insurance. A robot worth as much as a car may need adding to your contents cover. Check the cost with your insurer, and whether accidental damage it causes is covered.
  • Repairs and updates. Out-of-warranty repair costs haven't been published yet. Ask before you buy.
